New Dual N-Channel OptiMOS™ 55 V MOSFETs in Super SO8 Packages for Automotive Applications

Infineon recently launched 3 new n-channel dual devices in OptiMOS™ 55 V planar technology to address the rising energy needs of automotive applications:

IPG 20N06S2L-50
IPG 20N06S2L-65

The OptiMOS™ MOSFET dual devices provide a smaller footprint than DPAK while maintaining a 20 A current rating. These products have Al wirebonds instead of clips to reduce delamination risk, increase reliability and reduce cost.

The most important advantage is the replacement of 2 DPAKs with one Dual Super S08. This enables more compact system solutions by reducing the product footprint from 130 mm² to 32 mm².

In addition to the advantages of the Dual Super S08 package, the OptiMOS™ 55 V planar technology offers better avalanche energy capability required by applications such as ABS valves, powertrain control solenoids and other inductive loads.
