With this family extension, Infineon is in particular supporting customers seeking for broadening their offerings towards a wider performance range, but refrain from introducing multiple microcontroller platforms. This approach offers the highest degree of hardware and software reuse with significant costs savings.
With this latest extension of its 16-bit MCU family dedicated for body (XC2200), safety (XC2300) or powertrain (XC2700) applications, Infineon provides scalable automotive solutions and for industrial (XE166) solutions from low-cost to high performance. The new device series enables cost effective downgrades for installed platforms. In addition cost and form factor critical applications are addressed with cost optimized and very small packages.
