PROFET™ – High current, fully scalable SMART high side power switch families in DPAK and D²PAK

PROFET™ scalable family concept

Infineon is expanding its high current PROFET™ DPAK and D²PAK portfolio with the introduction of 4 new single channel devices. This will create – together with the existing portfolio – product families that are fully scalable (pin-to-pin and functional) by RDS(on), with values ranging from 8 mΩ to 16 mΩ (8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 mΩ) for DPAK packages, and from 7 mΩ to 9 mΩ (7, 8 and 9 mΩ) for D²PAK packages (both SMD and leaded).
This unique scalability allows complex load combination partitioning, optimizing board design and layout.

All the devices have current sensing and provide an embedded set of protection and diagnostic features (for events such as overload, overtemperature, short-circuit, open load) including ReverSave™ (reverse battery protection without external components).

12 V-grounded high-side loads, µC-compatible, with diagnostic feedback All types of resistive, inductive and capacitive loads Very suitable for loads with high inrush currents, such as heating systems (glow plugs, seat heating elements, or PTC auxiliary heating systems) and high current lamps (e.g., HB/LB) Relay and fuse replacement in power management modules and junction boxes
