TLE 4941plusC - Next-Generation Wheel Speed Sensor Now Available

Image TLE 4941plusC with external circuitry design Image

TLE 4941plusC is the latest offspring of the extremely successful TLE 4941 family, based on new 0.35µm technology B7CA, which is manufactured in Kulim. TLE 4941plusC is a differential Hall sensor for measuring the car's wheel speed magnetically. Designed as a drop-in replacement for existing TLE 4941C and TLE 4941-1C devices, TLE 4941plusC offers several electrical and magnetic improvements. These include accelerated calibration during the start-up phase and higher load dump robustness. Building on our new B7CA standard base technology for magnetic sensors, the TLE 4941plusC brings our  wheel speed sensor portfolio to a state-of-the-art frontend platform. Additionally, TLE 4941plusC uses the latest backend line concept, Flexline.

We plan to migrate the existing TLE 4941C to TLE 4941plusC as quickly, securely and effectively as possible. Future productivity improvements and development work will concentrate only on the TLE 4941plusC from now on. Although we anticipate rapid migration, we will continue TLE 4941plusC predecessors to give our customers as much flexibility as possible in planning their migration roadmaps.

The signal generated by a wheel speed sensor, once sent to the ECU, is used by numerous submodules in the car. It gives input to safety-relevant systems such as ABS and ESC and is also fed to the speedometer, automatic central locking system and seat belt warning system, etc. The TLE 4941plusC is mainly targeted at the 12V network in passenger cars and light vehicles. The sensor is also ideal for transmission control, when neither direction detection nor vibration suppression is needed. With its 2 mm Hall element distance, it is particularly interesting for small wheels.
